Hello everyone, The first post in this section is my DIY Simpit for Elite Dangerous. I used to play on a regular desk with a hotas setup set on top. After many hours the setup didn't feel very comfortable at all. So when i decided to return to the game it was on one condition; a simpit! Based on a low budget hotas setup, I've build my own and added my hotas and some very old controllers i had laying around. When i found out about LEA Extended input i added touch screen button tablets to my wish list. And so after a few days i got the setup working. The setup contains: - Laptop used as computer with monitor as main screen (bigger and better) - MS Strategic Commander - GTX Throttle - MS Sidewinder FF Wheel (the steer is packed away, just need the pedals) - Thrustmaster 16000M - cordless mouse Left tablet: Chromebook (to find info on the web, guides, tips, etc...) Main screen is Inara Right tablet: iPad with LEA Extended Input, currently only have the Combat panel done so far, intend to work on a lot more for specific roles. Attachments:

Hi, Thanks very much and yeah i did, based on the design posted years ago by Rodger Dogder (see att.) I wanted more room for leg movement so i changed the design somewhat so i could move my legs around more freely and added the tablet stands. Incl. the desk (just a cheap IKEA tabletop and some adjustable legs) all in all it cost me less then 200 euro's. Tip, once the base off the framework is done, fill it with sand. Also don't glue the top so it remains detachable for ease of movement, maintenance or changes etc. If you prefer to fix it, just use screws. Attachments:

It got even better, final stage completed: - Swapped the laptop for a new rig running AMD Ryzen 5 3600, RTX2060 Super, 16gb RAM - Swaped the monitor for a UltraWide Curved 34" - Added 2.1 sound system The tablets are mounted using RAM Mounts with 15cm extenders. This setup is done now tho the last part will be to swap the keyboard for a black RGB keyboard at some point. But thats just talking details Here is the current setup and its just awesome..! Dude I made an account just to tell how absolutely awesome this is. In the later pictures it gets quite hard to read what you've assigned some of those buttons to. Would love to give this a whirl if you wouldn't mind sharing?

Hi CMDRredshift: Thanks for the thumbs up. Will post an update again as I've replaced the Strategic Commander. See below. Hello filko: Unfortunalely, I do not have any schematics how the build is made. But if you like I could make some pictures of the frame. Just let me know if this might help.

It seems this post got a little more attention so here is another update. The Strategic Commander is replaced with a 3D connexion SpaceMouse. Basically this is now a HOSASAT setup. Also added some eye candy because RGB lightning is just bling. The picture may be a bit dark so here is a list of the hardware and software used for this build: HOTAS: TM Warthog Pedals: TM TRFP Left hand controller: 3d Connexion SpaceMouse Tablets: Mix of a Chromebook, Ipad, Samsung Galaxy tab Phone; Just that to have a small input touch screen Software: - VoiceAttack - LEA Extended Input - Joystick Gremlin - GameGlasss LEA extended input is used for the smartphone touch input to send keystrokes to the computer. The Key input is picked up by VoiceAttack which I used for all macro's and other things GameGlass doesn't provide (which is basically just macro's). However, I must confess the LEA will be replaced by GameGlass soon. Joystick Gremlin is used to allow the SpaceMouse to be used as an analog 3DOF joystick and to set curves for all other analog input. As for Key/Button assignment, the setup is geared towards maximum efficiency and good ergonomics while playing for hours at the time. So with the tablets/GameGlass and the controllers providing buttons and everything, the Keyboard is hardly used.
