Extended Input Server running on Windows 10 running as Admin My Samsung Android Pad runs the client and connects perfectly. No problems at all. I've tried running both the Resource Manager and Project Editor on the Server machine both as Admin and as standard users - Neither one will connect. Says " Fail to find a suitable server or password is incorrect."I have made sure the passwords and the ports are all correct (using default ports - I haven't changed them) and I have even reset the passwords to the default "123456". I have verified the entries in the firewall. I have also tried with the firewall disabled. I have uninstalled and re-installed the Extended Input Server several times over the past two days trying to figure this out. I am not sure what else to check. The client connects perfectly and works flawlessly but the Resource Manager and Project Editor do not successfully connect on the machine running the Extended Input Server. If anyone has any ideas, let me know.

did you use an antivirus ? I have disabled the antivirus in my attempts. (Kaspersky) I have even Disabled it when re-installing it. I know it must be something I have going on my machine since I cannot find anyone else on the forums, facebook, or the youtube comments having the same issue. I am just looking for someone who may have an idea what it could be.

I even tried forcing all the ports that LEA uses open with
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="TCP In Port 45612" dir=in action=allow protocol=TCP localport=45612
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="TCP In Port 45613" dir=In action=allow protocol=TCP localport=45613
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="TCP In Port 45614" dir=In action=allow protocol=TCP localport=45614
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="UDP In Port 45612" dir=In action=allow protocol=UDP localport=45612
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="UDP In Port 45613" dir=In action=allow protocol=UDP localport=45613
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="UDP In Port 45614" dir=In action=allow protocol=UDP localport=45614
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="TCP Out Port 45612" dir=out action=allow protocol=TCP localport=45612
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="TCP Out Port 45613" dir=out action=allow protocol=TCP localport=45613
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="TCP Out Port 45614" dir=out action=allow protocol=TCP localport=45614
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="UDP Out Port 45612" dir=out action=allow protocol=UDP localport=45612
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="UDP Out Port 45613" dir=out action=allow protocol=UDP localport=45613
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="UDP Out Port 45614" dir=out action=allow protocol=UDP localport=45614
That did not help either.

seem to loopback pretty good, can you try to run the tray icon as admin (right clic on the traybar icon "run as admin") if it still don't work can you launch the resource manager as admin?

Yes. Did both those things.
Even went to C:\Program Files\LEA Extended Input\Extended Input and ran them as admin.
I am going to try to install this on another computer. It is possible I have something "special" (special not in a good way) going on with my computer. I'll let you know what I find.

Ok. Verified!
On a different computer, it worked perfectly the first time. No adjustments or admin running. It just works!
Conclusion: Time to reformat and reinstall my OS on my computer. I am now pretty sure it has to do with my constant tweaking of various settings on my computer over the past year and a half.
Who knows what I have messed up.
Thank you so much for your quick response and letting me lead you down a rabbit hole that went nowhere.
....
BTW - This is by far the BEST app of it's type. I am so surprised that it was not recommended when I looked up these types of apps on google. I found a link on an obscure forum on a topic about Monect. I was trying to enhance my Monect setup for Elite Dangerous and someone mentioned that I could do so much more with this app and should stop fighting with Monect to get it to do what your app already does so easily.
Thanks.

After diagnostics of it occurring here, it appears that Webroot Secure Anywhere blocks the UDP broadcast from the local loopback. I'll be contacting them to see what I can find out.

My Kaspersky was blocking UDP and TCP Localhost. Even shutting down Kaspersky did not help since it still kept the network agent task running and would not allow me to kill the task or process. The company I work for happens to be in the process of moving to a different Anti-virus, my network admin removed it and installed the new Anti-virus we are moving to. Everything started working perfectly. I am glad I didn't have to reinstall my OS. I was dreading having to do that.

That being said, now I'm discovering that occasionally even without Webroot running there are problems. They're most often resolved by restarting the Windows service, but it's frustrating to no end. I'm seeing what other information I can get on that too.

Webroot confirms issue and indicates it's unintentional. A bug was introduced into 9.0.27. It's fixed in 9.0.28, and right now new installs are rolled back to 9.0.26. Users who are affected (affects more than just LEA) can uninstall Webroot and then reinstall from an installer to get to .26 and avoid the issue for the time being. Or they can wait for .28 to be released Soon™.
