Hello everyone,
A year ago, I abandoned Roccat in favor of LEA and started working on some panels for Star Citizen. Originally it was just for my personal use, but I am starting to share them with my guild for some early public test.
As of now, it feature 4 working panels, 1 abandoned panel and 1 panel that is limited by the use of an other program (Voice Attack).
By the way, thank you for creating LEA ; I tried most available tools to create custom interfaces on tactile screens, and this one is the best I have ever seen. There is so many possibilities... I am just starting to scratch the surface, and it already allow me to do so many cool things...
Scanner :
This new panel contain all scan-related functions. It allow the user to scan a target, scan the surrounding, change the scanning radius, and even use two macros to allow the user to "auto-ping" at 100% of the scanner's strenght or rougtly 50%, insteade of doing it manually in-game.
Emotes :
It is the panel I am actually working on, and the most recently developed. The reason being that some people in my corporation are looking forward to it, and I'd like to please them.
Give access to two panels for emotes. By default, Left side is for slash command (require helmet) and left for shortcut (only combat emotes for now)
Actual functionalities :- two panels for emotes
- switch between them from two list
- move panels from left to right in two Drag&Drops only, and create your own combination.
- Allow direct access to a precise emote (like laugh 2) via slash command instead of simple category from a shortcut (like the shortcut “play any laugh emotes, would it be regular laugh or laugh to death or Machiavellian laugh, that is available in-game”)
- more “shortcuts panels”
- graphical improvement
- maybe replace text by icons, or screen captures of the emotes in-game.
- experiment with 3 panels ; a big central one for “major lists and complex interfaces”, like the combat emotes shortcuts, and two small lateral with precise categories of emotes. => it will also allow me to integrate weapons switching and some other little things.
Flight :
it was the first tab I created, back in 3.3, but it have been reworked in 3.6 (first attempt at buttons with complex shapes) and in 3.7 (improved use of buttons with complex shapes to improve the design and make this panel more assemblage-friendly).
Outside of theses little improvement, It hadn’t been brought up to date with the game’s new functions. I'll do it as soon as I am done with my actual work on the Emote panel.

Actual functionalities :
- shield management
- energy allocation
- activate landing mode and toggle auto-landing
- scan toggle (with a slider to adjust the scanning area)
- complete flight panel with landing, auto-land, and the different flight mode.
- Make it a real tab and not just three panels slapped together on a tab.
- add some shortcuts for the mobiglass
- add command that will work with VoiceAttack's ability to reproduce per-registered movement with the cursor to create function like "ask for landing with only one button". I don't think it is possible to do it with LEA, but maybe I am wrong...
autoland is not visible on the screenshot, as the landing mode was toggled off.
Mining :
this tab is more of an early concept. It was functional when I created it in 3.6, but it is mostly bugged as of now. It wasn't repaired as I prefer to recreate it from scratch later.

planed updates :this tab is more of an early concept. It was functional when I created it in 3.6, but it is mostly bugged as of now. It wasn't repaired as I prefer to recreate it from scratch later.
Actual functions :
- toggle laser mode
- leaving the tab also disable the mining mode on the ship => bugged
- strafe in all directions
- lock ship rotations and tilt : was useful in 3.6, but useless now. Will be replaced by a more useful function.
- Also allow controlling the laser’s orientation from the tablet/smartphone => bugged since 3.7, can’t find out why.
- access to my org’s prospections maps (only work for members, as it is on our spectrum) (imply a return to desktop) => require VoiceAttack to work, I need to find an other way to obtain the same result.
- a better design that will make it more modular, with more advanced buttons.. .
- I would like to be able to add other gameplays to this tab in the future, as I am limited to 6 tabs, thus, the next update will need to use a "toggles and linked panels" based design
Ground Vehicle :
Again, it is an old tab waiting to be recreated from scratch, but it also was my first panel with an attempt to use more LEA’s functions, and not just slap some sliders and buttons onto the screen and call it done.
Also, it is still working perfectly fine, so if you want to drive your rover instead of using wasd, you can.
Actual functions :- Rotating the device control the steering of the wheels.
- The left slider is for speed, it feature a customized curve for easy stop and facilitated low-speed moving (unlike wasd), while still allowing to reach max speed.
- The left panel also control brake and doors
- the central panel control start and stop, the headlights, and contain shortcuts for the map and the contacts, making a keyboard nearly useless when you are driving
- the left panel allow access to three sub-panels :
- one for weapon firing (with security)
- one for camera control (unfinished, but was half-working in 3.7)
- one for radar control (ground vehicles radar is not available in-game for now, so it is only a placeholder)
- recreate it from scratch to bring it’s design up to the standard reached on my last works, like emotes and shield management (more complex button, improved use of panels, texts, etc...)
- working and intuitive camera control
- see if there is a way to lock steering and speed slider(related question that will control this evolution (I haven’t looked into it as of now) => can a slider control the apparition of some images on other parts of the interface ?)
- If it is possible to lock a slider, maybe by using a toggle, then try to add a switch to a controlling mode suited for gravlev vehicles.
Database :
it contain links to useful website, like Erkul’s Pips&DPS calculator.
I need to rework it. I wasn’t able to make a working macro in LEA, so it activate a shortcut that is recognized by Voice Attack, and it is this second program that launch the web-page. Is there a way to add a macro that will launch a program with a parameter in LEA ?
Might be replaced, but only if I need more than one new tab.
Other things I would like to do :
- add color templates to "easily" (well... in a thousand clics) switch colors to other in-game constructor's color. Also add optional back-ground, for now, the only available one is based of the Aurora holographic screens.
- fix the language. It is a mix of french and english for now...
- I am also working on a keyboard for an other project, and I might as well copy it into this project when it is done, allowing to add it into a tab. It might please some users who want to stay away from their keyboard in order to create some kind of “cockpit simulation”. This way, they would just need to add it to, for example, the emote tab, with a toggle and a linked panel, and done, they now have a “simulator-friendly keyboard" for the chat.
